Best Marinade Trick Ever
This is pure genius to me. It saves time on so many levels, resulting in a stress free feast. It was sent to me by today’s guest blogger Joanne Gethin a registered dietitian in DC. I love her for it. And it’s this simple.
Make a marinade whenever you feel inspired. Put it in a freezer bag with the meat, then FREEZE it. Are you getting the idea? The morning of said feast take it out of the freezer and KABANG it sits in the marinade all day.
Here is Joanne’s Favorite Marinade for Flank Steak
Citrus Soy Marinade
About 1 lb flank steak (can substitute skirt steak)
3/4 cup low sodium soy sauce
1/2 cup OJ
Juice of 2 lemons and 2 limes
2 cloves of garlic, sliced or put through a garlic press
1 T honey
1 t crushed red pepper flakes
Mix marinade in large zip-lock bag, add steak, push as much air out as you can without spilling and marinade in the fridge overnight. Or freeze and pull out am before cooking to thaw/marinade at the same time.
