Baking for the Troops. Anzac Biscuits.
ANZAC is for Australia, New Zealand Army Corp. The Kiwi’s shipped these amazing cookies to soldiers in WW1. You’ll see why. Tis True, I’ve posted the Anzac before but these are the chewy version using the magic ingredient Golden Syrup.
1 cup plain flour
1 cup rolled oats
1 cup coconut
3/4 cup brown sugar
A stick and a tablespoon of butter
2 tbs golden syrup
1 tsp baking of soda
heat oven. 350. U
Mix flour, oats, coconut and sugar.
Melt the butter, golden syrup and 2 tablespoons of water until melted. Stir in the baking soda. The liquid should froth up a bit.
Pour the butter mix into the flour mix and stir until combined.
Put tablespoon size dollops on baking tray and bake for 10 mins or until golden brown.
