We are driving 10 hours for Thanksgiving this year. With four imps under six the golden arches will start to look like the gates to Heaven. Fast, easy and a BREAK. But if we have a choice Chipotle wins hands down.
Chipotle
Chipotle is committed to organics, hormone- and antibiotic-free meats, and produce sourced from local suppliers. Skip the tortillas, cheese, guacamole, and sour cream. I go for the burrito bowl with carnitas, lettuce, onions, peppers and salsa. Plus the kids love their rice and beans.
McDonalds
Believe it or not, McD’s fries have the lowest calorie count at 230 for a small. I’ll sneak in a few fries from the imps and take a Chicken Caesar Salads at a mere 220 calories. Saving room for a low fat vanilla ice-cream at 150 calories. For the Imps the Happy Meals now come with a side of apple sauce instead of fries and low-fat milk or fruit juice instead of soda.
Wendy's
Like Mc D’s the grilled chicken sandwich is a winner and for something low fat and filling you can’t go wrong with a baked potato, easy on the sour cream and chives.
